Once You've Arrived
Aqua Resort & Villas
The airport, getting around, money, power outlets: everything that makes daily life easy from the moment you land.
The Airport & Transfers
Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) is five minutes from Aqua Resort. For our guests, the airport shuttle is free both ways: send us your flight times after booking.
Getting Around the Island
A rental car is the most convenient way to explore the island; we can book one and have it delivered to the residence. Taxis are available but run on fixed rates, without meters — agree on the fare before getting in.
Money & Payments
Credit cards are widely accepted. The US dollar is the reference currency on the Dutch side and works everywhere. Keep some cash for small shops, lolos and markets.
Power & Internet
On the Dutch side, power is 110V with American outlets; on the French side, 220V with European outlets. An adapter may be useful depending on your devices. Fiber Wi-Fi is included in all our homes.
Water & Everyday Health
Tap water generally comes from desalination; bottled water is recommended for drinking. The Caribbean sun is intense: hydration and sun protection are essential.
Before You Go
Aqua Resort & Villas
Sint Maarten is a year-round destination, with warm water in every season. High season runs from December to April: dry, sunny and lively, but with higher rates and peak crowds. From May to August, temperatures rise and prices drop — a great window to enjoy the island at a quieter pace. September to November is the wettest stretch and hurricane season: flights and rates are at their lowest, but cancellation insurance is a wise precaution.
